Tips & Ideas
You can buy Madewell gift cards online or in-store to lock in the 20% discount. Both physical and digital gift cards purchased online appear to have their payment processed by Madewell, so you should be able to buy either to trigger the statement credit from this Amex Offer.
If you’ll be buying a gift card online from this Madewell Amex Offer, it’s worth clicking through from a shopping portal in case the purchase tracks – here are the current rates.
If taking advantage of this offer to buy a gift card, be sure to link your Amex card in the Dosh app as last time I received a nice notification from Dosh advising that I’d earned $5. That’s despite the terms of the offer in their app stating that you have to have clicked through from Dosh (I didn’t). Here’s my Dosh referral link if you don’t already have an account.
Note that although Madewell is owned by J.Crew, their gift cards can’t be used at J.Crew.

Interesting – that’s a fairly unusual ratio for an Amex Offer. Thanks for the heads up about it though – I’ll add that to the post.
My wife loves this store and the $115 version has been the offer we got on our personal cards for the last 2 rounds. Note Madewell denomination comes in $25 increments so the lowest denomination $125 put the effective discount at 88%, which is not ideal for resale.
If you have a Madewell store near you, you can presumably buy a $115 gift card in-store, but that still only gives a discount of 13.04% which isn’t much better for resale.
