This appears to be a highly targeted offer as neither my wife nor I received either version of the offer, while reader EW who sent it in only appears to have been targeted on a couple of cards. He was lucky enough to get both versions of the offer on different cards though, so keep an eye out for one or both versions.
The terms exclude ‘corporate cards and all prepaid card products’, but that doesn’t relate to regular gift card purchases. You can therefore buy a $60 Macy’s gift card in order to trigger this Amex Offer. Macy’s processes their own eGift card sales, so you can even take advantage of this deal from the comfort of your own home.
