Update 12/23/22: It seems like Blackhawk Network has finally gotten things sorted out with their error. On the last day that people could claim the Lowe’s gift cards, they started giving $15 cards rather than $5 cards.
For people who’d claimed their cards before that and only gotten $5 cards, they’re sending them $10 cards seemingly automatically. Note that the $10 cards are coming from CashStar rather than Blackhawk Network (although CashStar is owned by Blackhawk Network), so it’s not a scam if you see that appearing in your inbox. Thanks to everyone who’s provided updates about this.
Update 12/10/22: Apparently Blackhawk Network (which is the company running this promotion rather than Lowe’s themselves) is only sending out $5 Lowe’s eGift cards rather than $15 cards.
This has happened once or twice with past deals and they did eventually make it right, but it’s a huge pain. Just in case they try to get out of sending you the correct value, I’ve attached a couple of screenshots below for reference. One shows that the offer is clearly supposed to give a $15 Lowe’s eGift card when buying a $100 Choice gift card – note that it says ‘a $100 Choice gift card’ and doesn’t have any mention of it only being valid on select Choice brands.
I’ve also attached a screenshot of the terms and conditions from the claim page itself. Again, this doesn’t make any mention of there being any restrictions as to which Choice brands you buy.
Last year when there was a somewhat similar issue with a Visa gift card deal I had to submit a BBB complaint which eventually made its way through to someone at Blackhawk Network who finally fixed the situation. I’d therefore recommend submitting a BBB complaint if you bought gift cards from this Choice gift card deal at Lowe’s because getting enough complaints via that method should get the attention of Blackhawk Network which will a) hopefully mean they send you the correct amount of Lowe’s eGift cards and b) might mean they’re more careful about setting up promos like this correctly in the future. We’ll see though.
If you don’t get anywhere with the BBB, try dropping an email to Heidi dot Lyttle at bhnetwork dot com as that’s who fixed things for me last time, but I’d use that as a last resort because I feel like getting numerous BBB complaints will be more likely to have a more positive, longer lasting impact.

Tips & Ideas
This is a decent offer. Although you’re not getting 20% back like you do with the $50/$10 deals, at least this offer generates more spend in one go if you’re planning on using the offer to help meet minimum spend requirements.
Note that I’m not 100% sure if every single Choice brand is eligible for this offer. If you see any signage for this deal in-store, it should have a list of valid SKUs on there which should help you identify which Choice brands can be bought in case there are any restrictions.
If all Choice gift cards are eligible, the Cheers To You! brand would be the best option for reselling seeing as those can be redeemed for Home Depot gift cards. However, I’m not sure if Lowe’s stocks that brand seeing as Home Depot is a competitor. Otherwise, Pack & Go could be good for Chevron/Texaco, Southwest and Airbnb.
Had two cards only generate $5 for $100 Pack & Go cards, contacted customer service but not hopeful in resolution.
Same issue
I recieved a $5 lowes card
This is, unfortunately, a persistent problem with Lowe’s gift card deals. Either they send you a card for the wrong amount, or they claim, after the fact, that your particular SKU was not eligible for the promotion.
Still giving only $5 today. Emailed them on the contact us form. We will see.
What about the $15 on $200 VGC redemption link disappearing? This common too? Been down at least 2 days now. Or was it $10 on $150 all along? They got me questioning myself.
Doubt I’ll do one of these deals again 🙁
The latest Visa gift card deal was a weird one. It’s been showing online as giving a $10 Lowe’s eGift card the entire time, but they’ve been sending out $15 cards. If you’ve only been getting $10 cards on that deal, it’s working as it’s seemingly supposed to; the $15 cards they were sending seemed to be an error in our favor.
Thanks Stephen! Guess I’ll redeem under the $10 offer and see what happens
Last day of the sale. Just tried redeeming one and got $5. Disappointed they didn’t fix this during the sale
That’s sad. I’m holding out to redeem closer to December 21st, hoping they fix this.
Just tried redeeming on December 19th, still getting $5 Lowes card. Anyone hear back from BHN?
email to heidi bounced back invalid…..is it bhnnetwork or bhnetwork?
bhnetwork
Then I had it correct. Bounced back invalid.
Looks like it’s fixed! Just received a $15 for a redemption now. It’s also the last day to submit, so there’s no choice but to submit now regardless.
Smooth move, Larry. I was afraid I’d forget to redeem, so I did mine two days ago and got $5s and a headache.
After 2 emails/tickets and a BBB complaint, received $10 Lowes cards to make up the difference.
emailed [email protected] 12/21 11pm, 12/23 10am I received two $10 cards to correct their issue. Had a third card I tried to claim on 12/20 and 12/21 and kept getting errors. Also sent them an email on that about the same time, we’ll see what they respond with.
My email:
BHN/Lowes responded to my BBB complaint with this explanation: “it appears that the issue was with one of the parameters being missed during the program building process”
