At first glance this is a great offer, but it’s not quite as good as it might seem. That’s because the maximum denomination of Visa or Mastercard you can buy from Kroger online is $100 which comes with a $5.95 purchase fee, while the $50 cards carry a $4.95 fee. That means you still end up paying $0.90 in fees after the $10 discount is taken into account.
Still, that might be worth it for some people who have an easy way to liquidate these cards. You’ll also earn fuel points which can make the offer more worthwhile; I’m assuming you’d earn 4x fuel points rather than the standard 2x seeing as Kroger launched a new 4x promo today.
Plus another .50 per card for shipping, so an extra $1
