This promotion is a little confusing. Kroger has listed the eligible gift card categories as home, hobby, clothing and Happy. That’s an incredibly broad range of gift cards, but it’s hard knowing exactly which brands will be eligible in which categories.

For example, Michaels will presumably be eligible under the hobby category (and maybe home), but what about Nintendo eShop? Video gaming can be a hobby, so are brands like that eligible too?

To make it a little easier, you can take a look at the gift card section on Kroger’s website to check some of the different categories. For example, here’s clothing, here’s home and here’s Happy. There’s no hobby category listed, but if there’s a particular brand you’re interested in, just do a search for it and if it shows up with an ‘Earn 4x Fuel Points’ note next to it, it’ll be eligible.

If you’re reading this post just after it’s published, you might notice that Kroger’s website is listing every single gift card brand as earning 4x fuel points, rather than just these select categories. I think that’s because their latest 4x promo on all brands just ended, but their website hasn’t received the memo. It’ll presumably change in the next few hours.
