This can be a good deal if you have a vehicle (or vehicles) with large gas tanks and can make use of the gift cards for personal use. If you’re a gift card reseller, there’s the potential for some of the dining and entertainment gift cards to be profitable depending on the rates available to you as cards like Google Play and iTunes are included.
If you buy a $250 gift card, you’ll earn 1,000 fuel points with this offer. That’s worth $1 off per gallon on up to 35 gallons. If you can fill up to that 35 gallon limit, you’d be saving 14% based on the $250 cost of the gift card.
You can make this more rewarding by paying for the gift cards with a credit card that earns a bonus at grocery stores. That will work for in-store purchases, but I don’t think the online purchases are processed by Kroger (let me know in the comments below if I’m wrong), so those wouldn’t earn a bonus on your credit card.
