Kroger normally only offers fuel points on $25, $50 and $100 fixed-value Visa and Mastercard gift cards. This digital coupon is a rare exception as it should work on variable load Visa and Mastercard gift cards – a variable load card is included in the image above, plus there’s no exclusion for that type of card.
200 fuel points are worth 20c off per gallon on up to 35 gallons of fuel. If you can fill up to the 35 gallon limit, you’d save $7 which more than offsets the card’s activation fee. Even if you can’t fill up to that limit, whatever savings you do get might make it worthwhile when also taking into account the rewards you could earn when paying with a credit card that earns more at grocery stores. You have one more week of the Discover It and Citi Dividend cards earning 5% at grocery stores this quarter, so this could be a good opportunity to help max those out if you haven’t already.
Yep, I noticed that list. However, the fact that $25 and $50 VGCs weren’t listed suggested to me that it’s simply a case of an incomplete list, rather than only those four types of cards being eligible.
