If you buy the gift card by April 6 you’ll also earn 4x fuel points. That means that if you buy a $25 Lowe’s gift card you’ll end up with 300 fuel points which can be redeemed for 30c off per gallon on up to 35 gallons. That can save you up to 42% based on the cost of the $25 gift card which will be profitable for reselling.
These fuel points gift card deals are interesting. However, who among us gets 35 gallons of gas with fuel points? I sometimes carry 2, 6 gallon gas cans, and fill up my car and the cans and might get 24 gallons out of a deal. Though sometimes I just get 10 or 12 gallons. I think a better “reasonable value” of fuel points is somewhere in the 10 to 15 gallon range. So a deal like the one above, where buying a $25 Lowes card nets enough for 30 cents off a gallon, that would “reasonably” worth $3 or $4.50 (10 to 15 gallons), making the deal closer to 12% to 18% “off” in fuel points. And even that is relative to how many fuel points you have and how many you’ll use. I’m currently bloated with fuel points, so this deal for me would only be for the credit card points earned.
