The Ingles website doesn’t share how much fuel points are worth or how they can be redeemed, so I’m not entirely sure how good this deal is.
If this article from 7 years ago is still accurate, every 100 points are worth 5c off per gallon on up to 20 gallons. If you buy a $100 gift card, that means you’ll earn 400 points which can be redeemed for 20c off per gallon. With the limit of 20 gallons, that means the most you can save is $4, or 4% of the amount spent on gift cards. That’s a poor return, so only worth doing if you don’t have access to better grocery store programs.
Update: Jeff has helpfully confirmed in the comments below that every 100 points are worth 10c off per gallon rather than 5c. That means this offer is worth 8% which is certainly better, but still limited in its usefulness seeing as you can often buy these gift card brands at discounts of 10% or more.
