Tips & Ideas
This is obviously intended to be used for IHG stays, but Stvr commented that you can buy Kimpton gift cards to take advantage of the Chase Offer and lock in the 5% or 10% discount.
A couple of things to note with this. First, my understanding is that you can only use Kimpton gift cards at Kimpton properties rather than at all IHG brands, so if you’re planning on buying these for personal use then it won’t help you for stays at a Crowne Plaza, Candlewood Suites, Holiday Inn Express, etc.
Second, Kimpton sells gift cards online but it looks like payments are processed by Buyatab. That won’t trigger the statement credit from this IHG Chase Offer, so you’ll need to buy a Kimpton gift card from the front desk of one of their properties. Seeing as Kimpton is a smaller brand that was only relatively recently acquired by IHG, there’s hopefully a better chance that their front desk staff will know how to sell gift cards versus trying to do the same at a random Residence Inn when there’s a Marriott Amex Offer.

The two times I’ve done this (in conjunction with Amex offers, not Chase ones), the Kimpton front desks have been super capable in this regard.
