I’m not too familiar with these Hy-Vee deals, so I don’t know if you get 40c off when buying $100 of gift cards, or if there’s a limit of 20c off when buying a $50 gift card – please let me know in the comments below if you know how it works.

Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks can be used on up to 20 gallons of gas. That means for every $50 spent with this deal, you can save up to $10 on gas. If you’re able to refuel to that 20 gallon limit, you’d be saving 20% which makes this profitable for several of the eligible gift cards, especially Best Buy, Lowe’s, GameStop and iTunes. Edit: My math was extremely dodgy – I think I must’ve calculated that based on 50 gallons, not 20. For every $50 spent with this deal, you can save up to $4. That’s savings of 8%, so probably only Best Buy will be worth considering for reselling. Thanks to Matt in the comments for pointing out the error.

The ad doesn’t make clear if all Happy gift cards are included or only the specific types displayed – Happy Student and Happy Dining. I imagine that all the Happy gift card brands will be eligible, but I’m not 100% certain on that.
