I’m not familiar with how Hy-Vee gift card deals like this work, so I don’t know if buying $100 of Happy gift cards will get you 40c off per gallon, or if buying more than $50 worth only gets you 20c off regardless.
Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks can be used on up to 20 gallons of gas. If you bought a $50 Happy gift card, you’d save a maximum of $4 on gas, which represents savings of 8%. That’s not bad if you’re looking to spend at a participating retailer of one of the Happy brands, but it’s not an enticing deal from a reselling perspective as there’s very little – if any – profitability there unless you also take into account credit card rewards for grocery store bonused spend.
