Fuel discounts earned through Hy-Vee’s Fuel Saver Plus Perks program can be used on up to 20 gallons. 20c off per gallon is therefore worth up to $4 off at the pump. That effectively works out to be an 8% discount if you can fill up with all 20 gallons.
That’s not a stellar deal on Happy gift cards seeing as they frequently go on sale at 10-20% off. This deal can be made a little better by paying with a credit card that earns more at grocery stores due to it being a bonus category (e.g. the Amex Gold card earns 4x Membership Rewards points, the Discover It card is earning 5% from January to March 2019 as one of its rotating categories, etc).
