Earlier on I wrote about the new ‘Your Gift Choice’ multi-store gift cards that are issued by Incomm (see that post here). I wanted to publish a separate post to highlight a potentially lucrative opportunity that probably won’t last very long.
Your Gift Choice gift cards don’t have a purchase fee and you can redeem them for American Express gift cards (both physical and digital) and Vanilla Visa gift cards (also both physical and digital). When redeeming for those gift cards, there’s no Visa or Amex purchase fee nor, in the case of the physical cards, a shipping fee either.
Where this deal becomes particularly interesting is that TopCashback is offering 2.35% cashback right now. The max value you can load on a card at the moment is $100 which means you’d earn $2.35 cashback. If you have an easy – and cheap – method of liquidating Visa and/or Amex gift cards, you could make a small profit on each purchase while also racking up rewards on whichever credit card you put the spend on.
I imagine there are enterprising people out there who’d be able to automate the purchase and redemption of these gift cards, so I wouldn’t be surprised if something changes about this opportunity soon enough. Those changes could come in the form of TopCashback reducing (or eliminating) the cashback it pays or Visa and Amex gift cards no longer being redemption options on Your Gift Choice gift cards.
