(EXPIRED) GiftCards.com Donating 5% Of Visa Gift Card Sales To Feeding America

GiftCards.com has announced it’s donating 5% of all consumer Visa gift card sales to Feeding America through April 27, 2020. Their donation will be on up to $3 million worth of sales, so a maximum $150,000 donation.

That works out to be an average of $214,286 of Visa gift card sales per day which, in normal times, is probably a figure that they’d easily hit. I don’t know if they’ve seen a reduction in orders in recent weeks though due to it being harder to liquidate the VGCs due to social distancing and only visiting grocery stores as necessary, rather than to simply get MOs. I’m sure they’ve seen some kind of drop in revenue recently, so it’s great that they’re committing to donating $150,000. Even if this is simply a donation they were planning anyway dressed up as a way for customers to feel like they’ve participated, that’s no bad thing as the ultimate beneficiaries are the people who’ll receive food supplied by Feeding America.
