When buying a $500 Visa gift card during this promotion, you’ll earn 1,500 points. Those points can be redeemed for $1.50 off per gallon on up to 20 gallons which means you can save up to $30. That makes the $5.95 activation fee more than worth it. Considering the low price of gas at the moment, the $1.50 discount might cover the cost of your gas entirely.
One thing I’m not entirely sure about is if this offer is available at all Giant, Martin’s and Stop & Shop stores. It’s not listed in the weekly ad for Stop & Shop nor some Giant stores. That’s been the case with gift card deals for the last month or two, but apparently these deals have actually been available in-store, so hopefully that’s the case here too even if the offer isn’t listed in your local ad.
Some Giant and Martin’s stores also let you redeem points for groceries which is a great alternative seeing as most people aren’t driving as much right now.
