These stores sometimes offer 3x on Visa or Mastercard gift cards, so 2x obviously isn’t as good. It can still be a decent deal though because every $500 card you buy earns you 1,012 points. That’s good for $1 off per gallon of gas on up to 20 gallons in some locations and 25 gallons in others. Even if you only refill your car with 6 gallons, you’re breaking even; anything more than that you’re making a profit (although that’s before taking into account any liquidation costs).
These stores have updated their loyalty programs in recent months, so many (or all?) now allow you to redeem points for groceries which is a great alternative for scaling this seeing as you’ll likely only have so much use for gas savings.
There are some reports of MC purchases not immediately crediting points at the time of purchase. Is this a widespread issue? Any recommendations ? I have occasionally seen instances where some of the packaging configurations (artwork of external packaging) did not trigger the Just 4U coupons .
