8x Gas Rewards Points are worth up to 16% off gas, so not a great deal from a reselling perspective for Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and Boscov’s.

2x on Mastercard gift cards is better, although not as good as when they offer 3x. Still, buying a $500 Mastercard gift card will earn you 1,000 Gas Rewards Points which can save you $1 off per gallon on up to 20 gallons. Provided you can fill up with at least 6 gallons, you’ll come out ahead after the activation fee, although this doesn’t take into account liquidation costs.
