100 Gas Rewards points are worth 10c off per gallon on up to 20 gallons. If you bought a $100 gift card for Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops, you’d earn 800 Gas Rewards points which is therefore worth $0.80 off per gallon. If you can fill up your tank with the full 20 gallon limit, you’d be saving $16/16%.
This deal is unlikely to be useful for gift card reselling unless you have access to some good rates for these brands. It’s a good deal for personal use though.
Don’t forget to pay with a card that earns more at grocery stores. For example, the Amex Gold card earns 4x Membership Rewards, while the Discover card has grocery stores as a 5% category during this quarter.
