This has the potential to save you almost $25 per fill-up for every $500 Visa gift card you buy. That’s because you’ll earn 1,500 Gas Rewards points (well, 1,518 when including activation fees) which can be used to save $1.50 off per gallon on up to 20 gallons.
If you can fill your car(s) to the 20 gallon limit, you’ll save $30. Assuming the $500 Visa gift card has an activation fee of $5.95, that’s still a saving of $24.05.
It doesn’t look like they properly proof read the fine print in the weekly ad as it says (my bolding):
Giant gift cards, American Express gift card, Mastercard gift card and Visa gift card products do not apply for this promotion.
That’s the standard wording used for their Gas Rewards points gift card promos, so I think it’s safe to assume that you can ignore the Visa gift card wording in that section.
Giant also owns Martin’s and Stop & Shop, so this deal should be available at those stores too.
Note that this offer doesn’t start until tomorrow – March 15.
