The Fluz app has today notified customers that they’re changing the policy regarding their 35% discount vouchers, so they’ll now be expiring after 60 days.
When you first sign up with Fluz, you get three vouchers that offer 35% off on up to $10 gift cards for the following brands:
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Burger King
- Chipotle
- CVS
- Domino’s
- Hulu (this is listed with the 35% vouchers, but it’s currently at 15%)
- Jamba Juice
- Papa John’s
- Peet’s Coffee & Tea
- Spotify
- Starbucks
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
In addition to the three vouchers you receive when signing up, you get another one for each new user that you refer.
Fluz ran a promotion last month offering a $5 bonus for new users that performed certain actions in addition to three of these vouchers. It seems a bit of a bait and switch that they likely received a bunch of new users from that promotion, only to change the terms of the 35% discount vouchers those new users received shortly after that. I suspect that the promotion was more successful than they anticipated and they’re now looking to reduce the liabilities of people having several of these vouchers sitting in their accounts long term rather than being redeemed straight away. I only redeemed my first voucher the other day, so I guess I need to get a move on with the other half dozen sitting in my account.
The good thing is that there are several brands here where it could be useful to buy three $10 gift cards at a 35% discount. If nothing else, you could use them on Starbucks gift cards and load them to your account.
Despite bringing in this change, Fluz doesn’t appear to display in the app when the vouchers will expire. It’s therefore not clear whether new users who earned their vouchers during last month’s promotion will have them expire 60 days after the date they originally earned those ones (in which case they’ll expire in a few weeks), or if they’ll expire in 60 days from today seeing as this new policy has only just been introduced.
Either way, it’s a disappointing development which seems like a short-sighted measure seeing as it’s likely to discourage existing members from being as likely to refer new users.
“We’ve added a new feature.” 😂
Exactly!
[…] important thing to note is that Fluz recently introduced a new rule that means your vouchers expire 60 days after you earn them. That’s an annoying restriction […]
