Stephen, do you know what’s the best way to liquidate GameStop gift cards? I went to the local GameStop store and contacted another GameStop store nearby today.
I found that GameStop gift cards cannot be used for any non-gaming gift cards, such as Home Depot, Netflix, and Uber at those two stores I contacted. It’s the same story with the trade credit.
However, I don’t know for sure if GameStop gift cards can be used to purchase gift cards on gamestop.com, say Uber, Doordash or Xbox?
There are some high-value brands like Steam that you can convert to in-store. They can also be redeemed for some brands online – the best thing to do is try testing it out and see.
I was able to purchase Xbox gift cards using GameStop gift cards, but it’s limited to up to 2 gift cards per transaction. Thanks a lot Stephen.
An update – I tried to purchase Netflix, Uber Eats, and DoorDash on gamestop.com with GameStop gift cards. None of the transactions went through. It seems that GameStop gift cards can only be used on gaming stuff and gaming related gift cards.
