Hi Stephen. I really appreciate you finding all these deals. I know I’ve made out much better than I would have without this resource. I am curious about the Fanatics cards, though, and whether they are worth reporting on. I’ve personally never bought a Fanatics card for resell as I haven’t seen any buyers that want them. I’m sure people use them for personal use and can appreciate you letting them know about these deals. But this one in particular is interesting because you even say in your post that you should be able to find at least 20% discounts on these cards. This post, while informative, just adds more to the feed to cull through as I’m looking for deals. Is it even worth posting about? (the Spa and Wellness cards fall in the same boat). Do you have a discount threshold on cards that you use to decide whether to post the deal or not?
Please don’t take this as a complaint, I’m honestly curious what makes a deal worth posting. And if the policy is post all deals and let people decide for themselves, I can support that. (or maybe there’s some liquidation angle on Fanatics cards that I’m unaware of).
Anyway, keep up the great work that you do!
Cheers!
No problem with the question at all 🙂 I’ve had the same debate with myself about posting Fanatics deals seeing as there are so many of them. The main reason I post them is, like you said, for people who might be interested in them for personal use. It certainly feels pointless posting deals for 15% off when you can always get 20% off from a warehouse club or Raise, but I have a hard time internally not posting a “deal” like this anyway for completeness. If someone is looking for discounted Fanatics gift cards and comes across this site, they’d likely not know about warehouse clubs and Raise for getting 20%+ off as those are ongoing deals and so aren’t something which they’d see on here unless I mention it within a different Fanatics post. I’m certainly not aware of a secret liquidation angle – I’ve never bought a single Fanatics gift card either.
With Spa & Wellness, that was another one that was getting excessive seeing as they come out with a new bonus card deal every couple of days. Seeing as the majority of Spa & Wellness gift card deals are a result of deals from buying them directly from Spa Week, I set up a post with a list of all the deals which I update and republish with each one. That means that post still ends up on the home page every couple of days when it gets republished, but at least there aren’t numerous Spa & Wellness posts clogging up the feed.
As for thresholds, anything less than 5% I don’t bother posting about anymore seeing as you can get that rate of cashback from Slide any day of the week. Newegg occasionally has deals on gift cards giving 4% off, so I’ve stopped publishing those as it’s a waste of time.
I appreciate the reply. I can understand the completeness angle. Honestly, I would have the same dilemma and would err on the side of posting vs. not posting. That said, I was really hoping you had the deep, dark secret of how to profit off of them 🙂
If only!
