The email from Dosh suggests that the 5% rate is available from now until May 5, but it’s still showing as 3% in the app for now.
Gift card purchases are excluded in the terms, but in reality they seem to be tracking OK. There’s a fee-free Visa gift card deal starting on Sunday at Staples. If you bought a $200 Visa gift card, you’d pay no fees, but would earn $5 from Dosh (I think that’s the per-day limit), as well as 1,000 Ultimate Rewards if paying with a Chase Ink card earning 5x at office supply stores.
Dosh is also offering an additional 2% at other retailers including Dunkin’ Donuts, Bed Bath & Beyond and Denny’s. If you’ve never used Dosh, you can earn $5 when joining and linking your first card if using a referral link. Here’s my link – I’ll earn $5 too.
Edit: I just realized that the increased rate doesn’t matter so much with the VGC deal as you’ll max out the daily cashback limit even at 3%. This could be good for buying other gift cards though.
