It’s great to see another 15% coupon after last week’s Lowe’s offer. That Lowe’s one should still be available if you loaded it to your account, but the coupon seems to have disappeared if you hadn’t loaded it, even though it’s not due to expire until February 29.
This new coupon also expires on February 29. Note though that it’s only valid on February 29 as it’s one of their ‘Leap Day Savings’ coupons which are only valid on that day. I’ll republish this post on Saturday to remind you when it’s live.
From a reselling perspective, GameStop is probably the best play here, although Xbox and PlayStation Store might be interesting for some.
It’ll be interesting to see if Dollar General continues this move towards one-time use digital coupons rather than instant discounts that are automatically taken at the checkout. If so, it’s a little disappointing as it was nice being able to visit multiple stores on multiple days when there was a decent offer on (e.g. 15% off GameStop). Having said that, Dollar General’s gift card deals aren’t always listed in their weekly ad and many of their stores are awful about updating gift card racks with the latest promotion – one store I was in recently was still advertising a GameStop deal with an expiry date of several months ago. At least with these digital coupons it’s easy to know that they have a deal running, even if it does make it harder to scale.
