Update 11/13/20: This offer is now live and the digital coupon is available to load to your account at the link below.
The promotion dates are a little confusing though. The ad said ‘Offer valid 11/13/20’ which made it seem like it’s available for today only. It then says ‘Coupon may be redeemed between 11/13/20-11/16/20’, but I’m not sure which coupon that is. Is it the digital coupon you load to take advantage of this offer, or the coupon that’s printed off at the register?
When you click the ‘Details’ link of the digital coupon it says ‘Coupon expires on 11/16/20’, but again – is that the digital coupon or the printed coupon? To confuse things even further, that ‘Details’ section also says ‘Exp: 11/14/20’.
My guess – and this is only a guess – is that the digital coupon part of this offer is only valid today and expires at 3am on November 14, 2020, meaning you have to buy the Apple gift card today. Continuing that guess, you have until November 16 to redeem the $5 off coupon on $5.01+.
The bigger question with all this is “Is this deal worth the hassle?” It’s a $25 gift card and even if you can resell it for ~90%, you’re making $2.50 if you value the $5 off coupon at face value. If you can scale this with multiple accounts thanks to multiple phone numbers then maybe, but I personally won’t be bothering to head to Dollar General today for this offer.

Tips & Ideas
Getting $5 off $25 Apple gift cards sounds like a great deal, but it’s not as good as it sounds. For starters, it’s only available on one day – I’ll republish this post on November 13 as a reminder.
Second, you have to load a digital coupon to take advantage of this offer which means Dollar General is able to enforce the limit of 1 per account. You have to verify accounts by text and I don’t think Google Voice numbers work, so that makes it a little trickier to scale.
The $5 off doesn’t come as an instant discount either – you get a register receipt with a $5 coupon which can only be used from November 13-16. This’ll still be worth doing for some people, but the restrictions make it less desirable than it could be which is fair enough given they’d get slammed if it was a straight 20% discount on $25 Apple gift cards.
