The terms exclude gift card purchases, but it’s always been possible to buy Xbox gift cards to trigger the statement credit provided you can actually get Dell to process your orders.
You can save an additional 10% on Xbox gift cards by using promo code XBOX10. If doing that, you’d need to buy at least $670 worth of Xbox gift cards because using the 10% discount on anything less than that would mean your net spend wouldn’t hit the $599 needed to trigger the statement credit.

Dell always cancels my gift card orders, so I’ve not had any luck testing it out myself. However, these Dell Amex Offers have always worked for gift card purchases for others in the past.
