Even with this discount, redeeming 6,000 points for a $25 gift card is poor value as you’re only getting 0.42cpp of value which is much lower than you can normally get from Choice points.
I’d therefore recommend against going this route unless you happen to have 6,000 orphaned points that you’re unlikely to add to any time in the near future.
