As always, this is a poor redemption of Chase Ultimate Rewards points if you have a premium card that allows you to transfer to travel partners.
Why is this a poor deal? How is a transfer to travel partners a better use of Reward points? I am new to this and I don’t get the math.
If you have a card that earns Ultimate Rewards and you pay an annual fee on the card (Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, Ink Business Preferred), you’re able to transfer those points to a number of different travel partners like Hyatt, United and Southwest. Those can get you much better value from your points based on how much flights or hotels would normally cost.
