As always with these Chase Ultimate Rewards deals, redeeming your points for these gift cards offers poor value. You’d generally be better off redeeming for statement credits and buying discounted gift cards for these brands elsewhere, but even that would be a poor use of the points.
Anytime I see these deals and think they’re great, the note is always that this is a poor use of the points. Would someone please help me with an example of a good use of the points?
Provided you have a premium Ultimate Rewards-earning credit card (i.e. any that have an annual fee), you can transfer the points to certain airlines and hotel programs. That’s a much better value because you can redeem for travel worth much more than 1 cent per point.
