Even though iTunes gift cards are more valuable now that they can be used to pay for Apple products, this still doesn’t represent a good deal seeing as Ultimate Rewards can be redeemed for better value via transfer partners.
Alternatively, you can buy Apple gift cards at a grocery store and use the Pay Yourself Back feature to get 1.5cpp or 1.25cpp if you have a Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred card respectively.
