(EXPIRED) Chase Marriott Cards: Earn 10x At Gas Stations & Dining On Up To $3,500 Spend

Update 8/11/20: When this promotion launched a month ago, many of us had problems registering for it. Chase seems to have fixed something today as many of us who were previously unable to register have now been able to do so.

It’s still not perfect though as I haven’t been able to register my wife’s Chase Marriott business card, but at least both of mine are finally registered.

Many people (myself included) are having problems registering for this offer. Chase is aware of the issue and has assured us that any eligible spend you put on your cards now will retroactively earn 10x provided you register by September 15. I’ll republish this post once they’ve fixed the registration issue as a reminder.

10x Marriott points is a great return, especially if you have Speedway or 7-Eleven stores near you where you can buy gift cards. 7-Eleven can be a great option seeing as they sell $500 Visa gift cards, but some stores I’ve been to have been cash-only for VGCs.

Speedway is a great option due to the fact that you can earn Speedy Rewards on gift card purchases. You’ll earn 20x as standard, plus they might have other bonus point earning opportunities. Right now you can earn 300 points for every $25 spent on gift cards.

To give an idea of how rewarding this could be, let’s say you bought $3,500 worth of gift cards (such as Best Buy or Amazon) at Speedway while that 300 point promotion is still running. Here’s what you’d earn:

• 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• 112,000 Speedy Rewards points

102,000 Speedy Rewards points can be redeemed for a $100 Speedy Cash gift card. If you earn an additional 16,000 points, you could redeem for a $100 Visa gift card instead. This therefore works out to be a ~3% return on your spend before taking into account the value of the Marriott points.
