If you don’t have any bulk selling relationships, this could prove to be a good deal. For example, CardCash is currently offering $195 for a $250 HP gift card. A 78% rate isn’t great, but taking the payment as an Amazon gift card will get you $201.83. I think that’s before the $5 bonus card comes into play; if that’s the case, you’d get $206.83, giving you a $6.83 profit on the HP Amex Offer even before taking into account any portal cashback you might earn.
The reason I think the $201.83 figure is before the $5 bonus is because of the payout rates for other brands like Walmart. Trading in a $100 Walmart gift card would normally get you $89 in cash or $92.12 as an Amazon gift card. That 3.5% bonus is what they always offer, so it just seems like they aren’t displaying the additional $5 you’ll receive when trading it in.
