Tips & Ideas
If you know you’ll be spending money at Saks Fifth Avenue, this deal could be worth doing as you’ll get a bonus worth 13.33% or 16.67% depending on which of the two deals you go for.
There are a couple of things to be aware of before taking advantage of this deal. First of all, payment is processed by Buyatab (they’re similar to CashStar), so this won’t trigger things like Amex Offers, the Saks benefit on personal Amex Platinum cards, etc.
Secondly, I’m not entirely sure if orders paid for with gift cards earn portal rewards. If a transaction paid for with gift cards/promo cards doesn’t track, you could be missing out on fairly substantial rewards. For example, at the time of writing this post, you can earn 12x Alaska Mileage Plan miles at Saks Fifth Avenue which, for most people, are worth more than 16.67%. Having said that, if it does track, you’d be stacking 12x miles with savings from the promo cards which makes it a much better deal. Just something to consider.
Update: As per EW’s comment below, it looks like purchases made with gift cards do track on at least one portal 🙂

A purchase I made from April 24 on Saks.com made solely with gift cards tracked on Rakuten.
Awesome, thanks for sharing your data point – I’ve included it in the post.
