With the $50 statement credit offer, you’d be saving 20%. With the 5,000 Membership Rewards offer, you’d be getting a bonus worth more than 20% so long as you value MR at greater than 1 cpp (cent per point).
Ralph Lauren processes orders for its own eGift cards rather than outsourcing it to CashStar or another company like that. That means you can buy a $250 eGift card and it’ll trigger the Amex Offer. Depending on the rates available to you, that could make this a profitable deal for reselling.
A little tip if you’re planning on buying eGift cards but have never purchased from Ralph Lauren before. Before purchasing, set up an online account with them and provide your details including address, etc. This seems to help ensure your account isn’t flagged for fraud compared to checking out as a guest.
