Bitmo recently launched a new Perk Points feature which rewards you for every gift card purchase you make in the app. You earn 1 point for every dollar you spend which can then be redeemed towards a gift card once you have at least 5,000 points ($5).
That means Perk Points are worth 0.1% which is a poor return except for multipliers like these. I’d highlighted this 75x rate the other day when writing about the new Perk Points feature, but a reader noted that when tapping on the Home Depot listing, it then referred to a 25x rate.
That 25x wording is still there, but the home screen of the app and a popup are advertising the 75x rate. When going through the checkout process, it also shows the number of Perk Points you’ll earn which is based on the 75x multiplier.
75x is worth 7.5% back in points which is a pretty good return for Home Depot outside of the rare sales which offer a 9.1% or 10% discount, so I thought it was worth writing a standalone post.
