The image advertising this promotion in the app mentions sending it to a Vet seeing as it’s Veterans Day, but that’s not necessary. You don’t have to send the card to anyone; you can just buy the $100 gift card for yourself and you’ll get the $10 bonus Home Depot gift card too.
A few things to note with this promotion. First, it’s only open to BitmoPerks members; that’s free to join, but you’ll need to take the necessary steps to do that.
Second, when entering the promo code, it’ll show up as $0 value rather than $10 or $110. Don’t worry about that – so long as it shows the HDBONUS promo code being applied, you’re good to go. Having said that, it doesn’t hurt to take a screenshot as evidence.
Third, you can pay with PayPal, so the Chase Freedom card is a good option seeing as that’s earning 5% this quarter.
Fourth, you might not get the gift cards straight away. Bitmo used to show them as pending when paying via your checking account was the only payment option, but for some reason my gift cards are showing as pending right now despite paying via PayPal. It says ‘Your gift may take 2-3 days to clear’ which is weird seeing as the payment has already cleared, so hopefully the cards show up in the app sooner than that.
Finally, the $10 bonus gift card showed up (albeit in a pending status) about one minute after completing the transaction, so don’t worry if it doesn’t immediately show in your wallet.
