Tips & Ideas

This offer appears to be very highly targeted which is unusual as Best Buy Amex Offers are normally widely available across most – or all – your cards, making it easier to select which card to add it to. Neither my wife nor I have the offer; if you’re in the same position it’d be worth checking your Amex Offers each day in case this is one they’re slow-rolling out.

eGift card purchases are mentioned as being excluded as Best Buy eGift card purchases are processed by CashStar. I think third party eGift card purchases are processed by Best Buy though, so you should be able to trigger the Amex Offer that way.

Alternatively, buying gift cards in-store will work. Most Best Buy stores seem to sell Amazon gift cards in-store nowadays if you can get a better rate for reselling those than Best Buy, or if you’d just use them for personal use.
