Tips & Ideas
American Express occasionally runs Amex Offers on Amex gift cards but they’re usually not worth the effort as the statement credit is $10 and Amex gift cards are harder to liquidate. However, a $20 statement credit for a $300 gift card is a little more interesting and so worth considering. Seeing as Amex eGift cards are eligible, the easiest thing to do would be to order a $295 eGift card to avoid shipping fees and liquidate it on Amazon. The cards comes with a $5.95 purchase fee which is why you should only need to buy a $295 card to meet the $300 spending threshold.
At the time of writing this post, you can use promo code SHOPEARLY24 to waive the purchase fee, meaning you can buy a $300 eGift card and make $20 profit.

Will these earn MR with Amex? I thought they wouldn’t but never tried as who wants an Amex GC to liquidate?
A related question is that whether the purchase count as minimum spending requirement
They don’t earn Membership Rewards. I don’t think it counts towards the minimum spend requirement either, so I wouldn’t count on having a $300 gift card purchase contribute towards that.
Do they earn delta or Hilton points?
Looks like I’m only getting the $10 off $200 offer on personal platinum. Too bad!
I also only got the $10/$200 offer on a couple personal cards.
I got a rock
any other coupons ?
🙂
By “liquidate on Amazon”, do you just mean to do an Amazon reload? If so, why do you suggest people add that much money to their Amazon balance? Aren’t paying bills a better way to liquidate an Amex gc?
Yep, I just meant a reload. If you can pay bills with these too, that’s an equally good option.
How do you liquidate it on Amazon? I tried to use Amex giftcards on Amazon for reload and they are always denied.
Maybe try buying an Amazon gift card instead of reloading your account. It adds an extra step, but it might work.
I also have a spend $750, get $50 version of this offer
