If you can liquidate these cards easily, getting $50 back is like a 5% return which is a pretty good rate.
American Express gift cards usually have a purchase fee, but you can buy the Business gift cards and use promo code AXP920AHB to waive the purchase fee; there will still be a fee for shipping though.
I was only targeted for this offer on my Amex business cards, although it might be available on personal cards for some people.
Got a similar offer for $20 off $300. Since you are buying a gift card, will you still get rewards points? And will it count towards a signup bonus? Especially with the latter they can be picky.
I wouldn’t expect it to count towards a signup bonus. I’m not sure if it’ll earn points either; it used to, but I feel like that might have changed a few years ago.
