Tips & Ideas
These types of offers are always great deals because you can use them to buy third party gift cards (but not Amazon gift cards) if you wouldn’t end up using the offer for regular Amazon purchase.
There are usually different versions of this type of offer. My wife and I were both targeted for a version giving 30% off on up to $100 spend, but in the past they’ve also offered 40% and 50% off, so be sure to check the terms of your offer if you’re targeted.
Note that you only need to redeem one Discover point in order to get the discount. Redeeming more Discover points isn’t a terrible deal given they can’t be transferred to travel partners, but Discover does allow you to redeem your Cashback Bonus for discounted gift cards which are a better use for your points/cashback.
Prime Day is coming up on July 12-13. While this offer is due to last until then, there’s also a limit of total redemptions and so it’d probably be best to use this offer sooner rather than later.
Can you use the 1 discover reward point, and then pay the rest of your order with amzn gc?
Sometimes Amazon will allow you to do that, but other times it’ll seem to force you to pay with your Discover card.
