Update 5/23/21: This offer is – in theory – working for some people. I have a ‘Spend $100, get $10 off when redeeming 1+ Membership Rewards point’ version of the offer, although there might be other versions out there. However, when trying to redeem the offer it didn’t take off $10, so I’m not sure what’s going on. h/t Doctor of Credit

Update 11/24/20: Doctor of Credit is reporting that more people are targeted, including people who’ve already done this deal (or perhaps one of the other Membership Rewards promo deals). Alas, I’m not one of them.

Although this offer can’t be used on Amazon gift cards, it should work on third party gift cards.
If you’re not initially targeted for this deal, it might be possible to get yourself targeted by following these steps:
Somewhat amazingly, both my wife and I were able to activate the offer first time as that doesn’t usually happen with these offers. If it says you’re not eligible, you should be able to follow these steps to get yourself targeted:
- Delete any American Express cards already enrolled in Shop With Points from your payment methods on Amazon.
- Add at least one American Express card that earns Membership Rewards points back as a payment method.
- Re-enroll in Shop With Points (our affiliate link)
- Try to activate the offer (our affiliate link)
- You probably won’t be able to activate the offer immediately, so try again every day for the next week or so and you should hopefully be successful.
