All these Amazon spending offers are starting to get ridiculous now, but it’s a fantastic problem to have. Discover It and ABOC Platinum Rewards are offering 5% back this quarter, Chase co-branded cards are offering 5x on up to $1,500 per month for November and December, Marriott Amex cards are offering 6x and I think there are other options too.
This Amazon Amex Offer for 8x bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar is the best of all though, albeit with a lower spending limit. It turns all Amex cards that earn Membership Rewards into a 9x card for Amazon purchases, or 10x for the Blue Business Plus seeing as that earns 2x as standard if you’ve not already maxed out this year’s earning limit.
You can earn a maximum of 3,000 bonus Membership Rewards. Based on the 8x rate, that means you’ll max this out when spending $375. Not a particularly high limit, but it’s an easy win. Although Amex can be clawback-happy with gift card purchases, I imagine (or hope) that with such a low spending limit that gift card purchases will be fine.
