Key Terms
Terms are for the American Airlines offer; terms are similar for the Alaska Airlines and United offers.
- During the “Winter Bonus” offer, which runs from 2/7/2022 through 2/17/2022 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of 500 AAdvantage miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard AAdvantage miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping mall.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShopping account.
Tips & Ideas
These aren’t huge bonuses, but could be useful for retailers that don’t normally offer high rates on shopping portals. From a gift card perspective, you can buy gift cards from GiftCards.com or Raise to trigger these bonuses even though the terms state gift card purchases are excluded.
With the Alaska and United portals, they also have card-linked in-store offers. Those can stack with Amex Offers which might work for buying gift cards in order to hit the $150 spend requirements for those two portals.
