Key Terms
Terms below are for the American Airlines portal; the terms are the same for the Alaska Airlines portal except that one has an expiry date of June 23 rather than June 18.
- During the “Summer Bonus” offer, which runs from 6/14/21 through 6/18/21 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of 500 AAdvantage miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard AAdvantage miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping mall.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShopping account.
Tips & Ideas
These aren’t amazing offers as it’s only an extra 2.5 miles per dollar if you spend exactly $200. Still, for retailers that don’t offer high rates on portals, an extra 2.5x can be useful.
As always with these shopping portal bonuses, they’ve listed gift cards as being excluded, but you should be able to buy gift cards from Raise, GiftCardMall or GiftCards.com to earn the bonus.
