Tips & Ideas
The United shopping portal is also offering a bonus right now, but this Alaska offer will be preferable for many for a couple of reasons. First, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles are generally worth more than United’s miles and aren’t as easy to accumulate seeing as they’re not a Chase, Citi or Amex transfer partner.
Secondly, the lowest tier only requires $50 of spend and earns a return of 10x per dollar if spending that exact amount. That’s a great return, particularly if you spend $50 with a retailer that doesn’t normally offer high returns through shopping portals.
Although the terms exclude gift card purchases, you should be able to spend $50 or $300 with Raise or GiftCards.com to lock in the bonus miles.
