AARP Rewards has updated its list of discounted gift cards and reduced points redemptions for gift cards for August 2020. For the last few months I’ve published a complete list of the deals, but for now I’m going to change formats for a couple of reasons.
First of all, there doesn’t seem much point in me simply republishing the list of deals that you can see for yourself here considering how long it takes to type out all those deals.
The clincher though is that some of these deals might be targeted, so me publishing the deals I see might mean you miss out on different deals that are available on your AARP Rewards account. I’m not certain the deals are targeted, but I noticed something a couple of days ago which might mean they are.
We got to July 30 and I still hadn’t bought any discounted gift cards from AARP Rewards last month. You’re limited to 5 per month, so I’d been waiting to buy any in the hope there’d be an excellent deal like 40% off Bass Pro Shops which they had in May a couple of times. When that kind of deal didn’t transpire (well, a similar deal did for Outback Steakhouse, but I didn’t manage to get any), I checked July’s list and bought 5 $25 Boston Market gift cards for $15 which I’d listed under July’s deals.
I then went to do the same on my wife’s account, but she didn’t have that offer available which is what makes me think some of these monthly deals might be targeted. Having said that, it might be that AARP Rewards has some kind of unpublished limit for each deal and I happened to buy the final 5 discounted Boston Market gift cards on my account.
All that to say – rather than publishing a full list of all of August’s deals, here’s a list of the highlights. Be sure to check the list yourself as there might be deals you’re targeted for which I’m not, or you might value a certain deal more highly than I do.
