eGift card purchases are excluded as they’re processed by CashStar. However, physical gift cards bought online or in-store will trigger the Amex Offer, allowing you to lock in the savings/rewards.
I’ve no idea how viable this deal will be for reselling. Raise has Soma gift cards listed for up to 6.5% off, while CardCash has them listed for up to 27.25% off. Although the denominations listed on CardCash are quite high, the fact that they’re sitting there and not being snapped up suggests there might not be a huge demand.
It doesn’t look like you can specify an $80 denomination online, so you’d need to mix and match denominations to hit the $80+ threshold. Alternatively, I’m sure you can buy an $80 Soma gift card in-store.
