Incomm and Blackhawk Network are like brothers from another mother or sisters from another mister. They’re both large gift card issuers, both run gift card racks in large retail chains around the country and both have their own range of multi-store gift cards.
Blackhawk Network started off with Happy gift cards and has since expanded to Choice, Giving Good and One4All gift cards, with One4All branding seemingly taking over from Choice. One4All is now the branding for multi-store gift cards that have their own set of brands (e.g. Cheers To You!, Happy Birthday, On The Run, etc.), as well as an overarching One4All gift card that can be redeemed for 100+ gift card brands.
Similarly, Incomm had some kind of multi-store gift cards originally (I’m not sure what that collection was actually referred to at the time), then they released ChooseYourCard gift cards that were like Choice gift cards, before more recently launching Zillions gift cards. Those Zillions gift cards were like One4All gift cards in that they could be redeemed for 100+ gift card brands, then they released a version with a more limited selection of eligible brands but which gives a $5 bonus.
Well, it looks like Incomm has done some further rebranding akin to One4All. ChooseYourCard gift card brands like Food & Drink, Game Time, etc. are now Zillions gift cards. That means you now have Zillions gift cards with their own branding in this way, plus the other types of Zillions gift cards that are just Zillions gift cards as such but which can be redeemed for a wider array of brands.
There’s a couple of interesting things that I noticed about this new branding. One is that for the brands that have a more limited selection of eligible gift card brands that they can be redeemed for (like the Food & Drink, Game Time, etc. options), there are 20+ gift card brands they can be redeemed for which is a better selection than Blackhawk Network’s equivalent lineup of Choice/One4All cards.
The other is that several of these new Zillions brands include Amazon gift cards as a redemption option. That includes:
- Congrats To You!
- A Gift For You (gray)
- Have Fun!
- A Gift For You (purple)
- With Love
- Happy Birthday
That’s particularly interesting because some stores like Rite Aid, Safeway/Albertsons, Giant Food Stores/Martin’s/Stop & Shop, etc. have sometimes run deals on ChooseYourCard and Zillions gift cards. If they continue running those deals on these rebranded cards, having Amazon as a redemption option could be a fantastic opportunity for gift card resellers.
Amazon may be pictured on the card jacket but Buyer Beware it may not be available when you redeem. Following is from zillions website FAQs:
“Why are the eGift options on ZillionsGift.com different from the brands shown on my Card?
We update our brand assortment regularly to provide the best options for our customers. You may find that we have added or removed a brand from the eGift options on ZillionsGift.com”
