Tips & Ideas
There are some excellent deals here, with several that’ll be break even or profitable for reselling. I imagine brands like DoorDash, Uber, Lyft and Grubhub will sell out faster than many other brands, so buy any cards you’re interested in ASAP.
Note that there are tons of different types of deals. Some give a discount, some give you Amazon promo credit, some are physical cards, while most are digital. Most also require the use of a promo code; I wanted to get this post out ASAP, so I haven’t tested yet if you can add different cards with different promo codes in the same cart, or if they have to be paid for separately. Update: You can only apply one promo code per order, so you’ll need to buy most of these cards individually. Just don’t forget to enter each one’s promo code as I’ve made that mistake in the past trying to rush through deals.
Don’t forget to take advantage of the various deals giving money off when using 1 point with various bank points – you can find those here.
Update 2: For some reason the Lyft gift card wasn’t being added to my cart. There are two designs listed on that page – selecting the ‘Birthday’ design worked for me.
Update 3: For the deals where you’ll get Amazon promo credit, once you’ve applied the promo code, on the final checkout screen before submitting payment you should see a small entry saying “Qualifying offers: Prime Savings” beneath the order total.
Update 4: The Brinker deal looks like it could be very nice indeed. The offer says you get a $10.50 Amazon promo credit and it gives the “Prime Savings” message on the checkout screen suggesting that’s correct. However, it’s also giving a $10.50 discount.
Update 5: The same thing happening with Brinker seems to be happening with Cinemark too. Having said that, perhaps the “Prime Savings” message also relates to deals where there’s a discount and it’s not going to give a $10.50 promo credit as well.
Do you need to be a Prime member to buy these at a Discount?
I think some deals you do, some you don’t.
Can we as prime members do the deals multiple times?
Just tried to do Victoria secret deal an 2nd time and could not. Will assume it’s limit 1 unless I hear otherwise.
No, it seems to be 1 per brand.
FYI it won’t let you use your Amazon balance toward orders where you receive Amazon Credits “Your $XXX.XX gift card balance can’t be applied to orders that contain Amazon.com or Visa or Mastercard gift cards, or collectible coins.”
That’s strange as my wife and I were able to use our balance on those deals overnight. Maybe they’ve changed something in the last few hours?
About these “bounce back” credits (on Uber, Doordash, etc.) I see that we’re supposed to received the credit 3 days after purchase. But what I find disconcerting (to put it gently) is that after I insert the code, I see no confirmation that a bounceback credit is coming…. (giving Amazon all sorts of room to claim later that you didn’t insert the code…. )
What am I missing? Or are we just supposed to trust Amazon to get it right? (or not?)
Blind trust in Amazon (and that you put in the code as well). Good luck!
Once you’ve applied the promo code, on the final checkout screen before submitting payment you should see a small entry saying “Qualifying offers: Prime Savings” beneath the order total.
When I try to apply the promo code I get “The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.” too. I also have the “Qualifying offers:Prime Savings.” I don’t feel confident about this one!
Thanks Stephen. I’ll be sure to look for that fine print. But it’s still … of Amazon to not specify precisely what that prime savings for this offer will be.
They list the savings/earnings on the promo page where it lists the promo codes for each deal.
Lyft deal still erroring even with your tip. Just at check out the code won’t stick
Anybody else encountering seemingly random cancellations of third party gc orders purchased with funds loaded to one’s amazon account (and using Amazon gc’s purchased elsewhere – e.g. Kroger, SW, etc.) Nope, not having anything to do with Best Buy. (or Fluz) Happened on a well seasoned account, one where scores of gc’s have been purchased regularly, over many years, esp. at the biannual amazon day events.
Amazon phone reps have no idea what happened — though they can see the nasty, incredibly vague unsigned, (ai-written?) message about the alleged (yet unspecified) suspicious activity.
